Selaginella siamensis
A collector must have specie! This is probably the most colorful selaginella when compared with other iridescent blue species. It is rather rare, said to be from limestone forest of South-Western Thailand. As see in the pictures, leaves are in heavy electric blue color when young, highlighted by bright yellow veining. Leaf shape is also pretty butterfly shape. Unlike most blue species that are vineing, this one forms large underground rhizomes and produce new plants when found suitable spot. Always stays at approx. 4-5" tall when grown under well enough light.
Although came from limestone region, in cultivation it seems to do well even in neutral pH media. Require moist, but not soggy...better allow it getting fairly dry between watering.
As a seasonal plant, it rests (leafless) from late March to early May. Let it a bit dry out that time.
