The Rotundifolia is probably the most stunning specie of the genus, with quilted and fairly leathery foliage in deep glossy, purple-green, while the underside is tinted an intense wine red. When grown in low light level and provide good nutrition, the leaves show an attractive iridescent blue sheen to them. The growth habit is upright and rosette. When mature, attractive bright, orchid-pink cluster blooms borne atop and produce a new plant at base.
It is rather a slow grower and compact enough for larger terrariums, or definitely grown as a stunning accent in a shady humid greenhouse. Stunningly attractive when full grown and blooming!
