This understory plant from Amazonian Basin bears distinctive foliage; its leathery leaves are striped in light, silvery-green and dark green with puckered surface like seersucker. Underside of the leaves are tinted in deep purple.
It seems to ramble about and with enough moisture (humidity) present, it will root at the nodes and produce new plants as well as tubers. Although it was said tolerates lower light and dryness, we have found its leaves are healthy when grown in above average humidity under light shade.
