Diplazium cordifolium is probably the most stunning specie of the genus from its single, paddle-shaped fronds that light up with a shimmering metallic blue color when light hits from a certain angle. This is a fascinating adaptation to low light levels of the forest floor.


Although considered a widespreading fern, it is rather a chellenge fern in cultivation. Seem to do well in peat-based medium and problem-free with soggy media. Need time to establish and require extra humidity and good air movement to grow well. Best suit for medium to larger size terrariums or greenhouse to avoid wide cultural swings.
