Lysionotus are beautiful shrub-liked and heavy blooming gesneriads. Major population occurs in China, with a few distribute down to upper parts of Indo-Chinese region. Lysionotus serratus is the one, characterized by silver veins on serrated leaves. Large clusters of lavender flowers rise from leaf axils and shoot above the plants. Offers are Thai specimens from Mt. Chiang Dao.


Despite a limestone endemic specie, in cultivation they seems to do well even in regular potting mix. It is fairly cold-tolerant
