Costus malortieanus NEW!
A rarely seen in cultivation lately. Costus malortieanus, or Stepladder Ginger is native to Costa Rica and Nicaragua, characterized by the broad, velvety, felty leaves and showy open flowers, with yellow striped with red in color. It is a compact grower can grow to approx. 2-3 ft. in height.
It does best in peat-based medium, or any potting mix formulas that keep moist, but not soggy. Leaves are healthy when grown in above average humidity under light shade.
