Asplenium delavayi NEW!
This exclusive offering of our Asplenium collection is an extremely rare and unusual species. Major population occurs in Southern China, with a few minorities distribute to Northen India, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam. Its hallmark is single, rounded, undulated fronds with unique radius sori underside. The fronds are on wiry black stems that rise around the crown. These appearances cannot be seen in other species of the genus - reminiscent of a maidenhair fern such as Adiantum reniforme instead of a bird-nest fern.
Despite being described as growing only on limestone in nature, it seems to adapt quite well to culture in pure or sphagnum-based medium ( be sure to not let get too acid over time). It does best as a not-too-wet terrarium specimen but needs good light to do well. Tolerates for cold weather down to 10 Celsius degrees without visible damages
