Unless counting Platycerium ridleyi, this remarkable Madacasgan species is the most sought staghorn fern from its unique corrugated shield fronds. It is also the smallest species of the genus, with the maximum of 25" across fertile frond span and also free offsets even in the juvenile stages.
Offers are sporelling plants which is much easier to thrive and acclimate than the wild-collecting plants. Best when mounted on tree-fern plaques with high quality sphagnum as this is the best way to control water. Need very bright light, high humidity and good air movement. Unlike Platycerium ridleyi, this species should not be allowed to dry out for prolonged peroid of time.
