This rarely offered tree-fern natives to South-East Asia where it occurs on hill slope in lowland dipterocarp forest. It forms terrestrial, fat trunk (similar to Dicksonia), with 2-3 ft. arching fronds that are in attractive pink color when young. Old plant usually produces new growing points at base.
Despite low growing, it is an easy, drought tolerance specie. Does best in peat based medium under light shade and good air movement. In nature it rests (leafless) from December to April, when the humidity drops below average. Even so, in cultivation it is evergreen if kept warm and maintain stable humidity above 70%
