Pteris is one of the most common ferns in cultivation. This probably due to its fast growing and decorative frond, which usually have palmate or finely dissect frond with colorful new growth. Typically it can found under tree canopy or cracking rock, on moist compost, so it should be considered as ground fern. In cultivation it enjoys moist environment under bright shade. Some species are suitable for house plant while others does best in greenhouse or terrarium conditions.
This fern is a bit touchy before established. Try to keep the root as long as possible and store in extra humidity for a few weeks. It's also somewhat sensitive to cold, so we aren't recommend to order during winter months.
