Extremely rare and unusual specie, known only from a few location in Peninsular Malaysia, with incredible black blade fronds, which is rarely seen in this genus. Can grow to approx. 2 ft. in diameter, but probably take several years.
It seems fairly easy to grow, but the color seems to develop when the plants are grown fairly shady, humid, well fed & somewhat cool. It seems to grow okay warmer but the leaf color is better when on the cool side.
