This charmingly attractive gesneriad endemics to forest understory of South America. Its remarkably attractive foliage colored in red and green develops from a rhizomatous and spreading root structure. Clusters of balloon-liked flowers in red-orange color rise when grown in optimum conditions.
It does best in a humid greenhouse or as a terrarium subject, performing well in shallow but wide containers of coarse, porous media.
