Anthurium clidemioides
One of the most sought-after “terrarium-friendly” anthurium species. Major populations span across the Central American Peninsular, from Costa Rica to Panama. Their remarkable-looking is a similarly low mound of heavily textured leaves, which relatively prompt response to major fluctuations in light intensity, with changes in both new leaf size and existing leaf color. Low light conditions produce larger leaves in mature plants with an almost genuine black color. These are intensely bullate when grown dark but will then change to more compact, greener leaves when exposed to higher light intensities (over 2,800 lux).
They originate from areas of high precipitation, so require high humidity; must grown under cover or terrarium type culture. Need free draining substrates and probably best when backed with a taller tree-fern plaque. They seem resentful of fluctuations on wide cultural swings. Overall, this is not a beginner plant.
Offered are cutting-grown plants, established in 3" pot
