Drynaria quercifolia is a spectacular specie, with 2 ft. upward fronds emerge from large flatten furry rhizome. In the beginning of growing season (April-May), it has a lot of nice shield fronds.


It is an easy and a drought tolerant fern. Perform well both in pot and mounted on a tree-fern plaque. If grown in pot, try to use very coarse, porous media. This specie is a seasonal plant has dormancy period (leafless) during January-March and need less water (just enough to keep media around roots moist).
