A cycad-like fern from its hard, thick and glossy arching fronds in deep forest green on black stems. Underside of the fronds is in pale green and contrast with brownish sori along margin. Matures to approx. 40-50 cm. in height. Does best in warm, relatively high humidity under partially shade. A very low growing fern but once established, tolerate for some neglect.
